Competitive advantages in Colombia
We're industrialized steel construction with in-house NSR-10 engineering, crews positioned in every major city, and a regional supply chain. This enables differentiators nobody else can offer in Colombia.
Seismic design embedded from day one. Our engineers master Colombia's three seismic zones (low, medium, high) and adapt every structure. Wind calculations for 120+ km/h Caribbean coastal gusts.
Trained teams stationed in Bogotá, Medellín, Cali and the Coast. No unnecessary travel. Corrosion and humidity protocols for Coffee Region, Pacific and Caribbean conditions.
Materials, transport, certified welding and finishes sourced regionally. Lower import dependency, 25–30% logistics-cost reduction versus international fabrication.
BIM design, CNC fabrication, regional transport, supervised assembly, welding, painting and handover. One contract, one accountable partner. 10-year structural warranty.
2026 cost estimates
Reference estimates in USD/m² for turnkey LGS/CFS steel-framing projects, excluding land and major civil works. Pricing varies by region (Andes, Coast, Valley), NSR-10 seismic zone, clear height and finish level.
| Building type | Size range | USD/m² (2026) | Estimated delivery |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small industrial shed (simple LGS) | 500–1,000 m² | $185–$225 | 6–8 weeks |
| Medium industrial shed | 1,000–3,000 m² | $170–$210 | 8–12 weeks |
| Logistics warehouse (Funza, Mosquera, Yumbo) | 2,000–8,000 m² | $155–$200 | 10–14 weeks |
| Institutional building (schools, offices) | 1,000–5,000 m² | $200–$265 | 12–18 weeks |
| Caribbean Coast project (corrosion surcharge) | All types | +$25–$45 / m² | +2 weeks protection |
Note: Prices include BIM design, CNC fabrication, regional transport, assembly and installation. They exclude foundation, specialty finishes, full MEP and site preparation. Precise quote delivered within 7 business days of initial meeting. Reference rate 1 USD ≈ 4,100 COP (February 2026). Pricing subject to FX and raw-material availability.
Colombian climate and regulatory environment
Colombia has sharply contrasting climates and seismic zones: the Coffee Region with high seismic acceleration, the Caribbean Coast with 120+ km/h winds and salt-laden air, and the Andes with high humidity. Every building is designed specifically for its context and audited by independent engineering.
Zone 1 (low, southern Huila), Zone 2 (medium, Bogotá and central Andes) and Zone 3 (high, Coffee Region). Our LGS structures use certified bracing and ductile connections tuned for each zone.
Caribbean and Pacific coasts: 120–150 km/h. Andes: 80–100 km/h. We design for historical regional maxima with certified anchorage and tested dynamic resistance.
Barranquilla, Cartagena and Santa Marta require galvanizing + multi-coat epoxy. Humid Andes: dual epoxy. Dry interior (Bogotá, Medellín): standard paint with rust inhibitor.
Enclosures sloped 5–8% with certified gutter systems for tropical runoff. LGS thermal insulation tailored to high-humidity Andes and Coast conditions.
Project typology in Colombia
From logistics warehouses on the Sabana de Bogotá plateau to metalworking plants in Medellín, schools in the provinces, retail in Cali and hospitality on the Coast — these are the projects PEB delivers in Colombia.
Distribution platforms of 3,000–8,000 m² in Funza, Mosquera and Tocancipá. Clear spans of 24–30 m, 7–9 m height. Seismic zone 2, 90 km/h winds. Assembly in 8–12 weeks.
Light manufacturing, textiles and metalworking in Valle de Aburrá. 2,000–5,000 m² with loading docks and overhead rail. High seismic zone — full reinforcement.
Classrooms, labs and libraries of 1,500–3,500 m² in the provinces. Steel + brick + concrete. Enhanced NSR-10. Turnkey: structure, MEP, finishes. 16–20 weeks.
Heavy structures with traveling cranes and specialized machinery supports. CNC-fabricated gussets, plates and anchors. 24/7 supervision. 12–16 weeks.
Mixed steel-concrete structures, parking decks and anchor tenants. 5,000–15,000 m². NSR-10 with 130 km/h coastal winds. Seismic damping where applicable. 14–18 weeks.
Hotels and resorts in Cartagena and Santa Marta with enhanced galvanizing + epoxy. Maximum-saline environment. Caribbean hurricane design for 25+ year durability.
Operational coverage — Colombia
PEB maintains a technical office, warehouse and trained crews in Colombia's main industrial corridors. Response time 48–72 hours. No cascading subcontractors: our teams supervise every project directly.
For projects outside permanent-crew zones: we deploy teams from the nearest city with a 7–14 day protocol. Transport and per diems are included in the initial quote with no surprise costs.
