Panamanian climate and regulatory environment
Panamá is a demanding climate zone: hurricanes (ASCE 7), moderate seismicity (REP-21), marine-saline environment on coasts and high humidity. Every building we design is certified for these conditions and audited by independent structural engineering.
Panamá is in tropical pressure band. We design for wind speeds per ASCE 7 (up to 160+ km/h coastal). Certified anchors, proven dynamic resistance.
Technical code REP-21 applies spectral acceleration spectra for Panamá. Our LGS structures perform superiorly in earthquakes vs. traditional concrete — optimal strength/weight ratio.
ZAM180 cold-rolled galvanized steel with active corrosion protection. In Colón and coastal zones we apply additional coatings if needed.
LGS cavities allow thermal insulation and humidity management. In Panamá we recommend insulation + vapor barrier in envelope. Lower operating costs than concrete.
Project typology in Panamá
From warehouses in Colón to corporate offices in Paitilla, educational institutions in the provinces and industrial plants in Tocumen — these are the project types we solve with PEB in Panamá.
Free Zones (ZLC, ZODI, ZULI) demand 2,000–8,000 m² storage with open design, easy internal reconfiguration and quick transport access. Our system allows flexible layouts.
Manufacturing, assembly and distribution plants in Tocumen require robust structures, variable heights, crane rails and future flexibility. Steel framing enables this without cost premiums.
Private and public educational institutions in provinces (Veragüez, Coclé, Los Santos) need classrooms, administrative buildings and labs — buildable in 3 months in LGS steel.
Regional health units demand certified buildings, complex MEP integration and environmental control. BIM design guarantees medical-infrastructure coordination.
Panamá City attracts multinationals needing modern, turnkey offices with contemporary finishes. Fast delivery without site conflicts is key in the CBD.
Shopping centers and stores in steel allow large spans, tenant flexibility and premium finishes. Tropical humidity design integrated from day one.
Unique logistics advantage in Central America
Panamá is Central America and the Caribbean's logistics hub. Our location in Centro Industrial PEB, Las Mañanitas lets us consolidate cargo directly from manufacturing to Colón ports, ZLC, and regional distributors without unnecessary customs steps. This means lower logistics costs, faster deliveries and access to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Dominican Republic and Caribbean markets.
For clients in Dominican Republic, Curaçao, Jamaica and other CARICOM islands: our transit time from Centro Industrial PEB is 48–72 hours. Other manufacturers in Mexico, US or Colombia need 7–14 days. That translates to shorter schedules, lower financing costs and more predictable deliveries.
